Olivia Plath Gets Honest About Religious Beliefs
Welcome to Plathville star Olivia Plath is getting open and honest about her religious beliefs. The 25-year-old publicly shared about where she stands when it comes to her Christian beliefs. Fans know she’s tied to her husband Ethan’s family, the Plaths, who are very religious. But where does she fall when it comes to this personal topic?
Olivia Plath’s Upbringing
If you watched Welcome to Plathville, you probably know all about Ethan Plath’s childhood. His parents were very strict. In the first season of the show, fans watched him try his very first Coca-Cola in his early twenties. Because the TLC show follows the Plaths, there’s not a lot of information about Olivia’s background and family. Fans assume she was raised in a similar way to Ethan.
Over the years, she has shared a few details. The 25-year-old recently posted on social media about her cult upbringing. And now, she’s revealing where she’s at today when it comes to her religious beliefs.
Welcome To Plathville Star Shares Religious Beliefs
On her Instagram Stories this weekend, Olivia Plath broke her silence on the new docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets. Though the docuseries focuses on the Duggar family and their religion, the IBLP, there is a connection to other fundamentalists. The Plaths were briefly mentioned in the series.
On Tuesday, June 6 at 7 p.m. EST, Olivia will be going live on Instagram with her sister, Lydia Meggs. They will be talking about religion and the new docuseries.
But first, she wanted to offer a disclaimer. She said, “I’m not really religious anymore. So, if that makes you angry, like it does for a lot of people in my comments and DMs, maybe this is not the live for you to join in on.”
She went on to say that she won’t be trying to “protect the church.” Then, she shared her true purpose in going live this week. She said, “I’m jumping on to say my experience, which, to be honest, was decently negative. There’s a lot of things that I laugh about now, because what else are you supposed to do? So, it’s not like this whole live is going to me b*tching about religion. But I have no interest in protecting it.”
