‘DWTS’ Fans Livid As Disney Pulls Plug On Show
Disney has just had a massive fallout with the second-largest TV provider in the industry and Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) fans are gearing up to pay the price. With this provider and Disney at an impasse, the plug has been pulled on the show.
Suddenly 14.7 million people run the risk of not being able to watch episodes of the upcoming season of DWTS live.
Understandably, fans of the ABC dancing competition are furious as they only just got the series back on a regular channel after the previous season streamed exclusively on Disney+.
Charter Spectrum And Disney Fall-Out
All Disney-owned channels including ESPN, EPSN2, EPSN Deportes, ESPNU, ESPN News, SEC Network, ACC Network, Longhorn Network, FX, FX Movie Channel, FXX, Freeform, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Baby TV, and ABC all suddenly went dark for Charter Spectrum customers.

When flipping over to these channels, subscribers received the following message:
“The Walt Disney Company, the owner of this channel, has removed their programming from Spectrum which creates a hardship for our customers. We apologize for the inconveience and are continuing to negotiate in good faith in order to reach fair agreement.”
The message included a website customers could visit to voice their concerns about the sudden blackout.

DWTS Fans Livid As Disney Pulls Plug On Show
With ABC on the list of channels that have gone dark, Spectrum Charter customers are left without a way to enjoy the new season of Dancing With The Stars.
Presently, things look grim as Spectrum Charter argues that Disney is being unreasonable in their demands. The provider argued they offered Disney a reasonable agreement and Disney’s counteroffer was excessive. Spectrum Charter goes on to explain that agreeing to Disney’s new terms would force them to raise the prices of their services. And, they pride themselves in keeping their prices as low as possible.
if disney wanted a little extra for their services could we have taken a little off the top of Charter CEO Thomas Rutledge’s cut? @GetSpectrum pic.twitter.com/g8ccZfzhTe

Dancing With The Stars fans have taken to various social media platforms to express their outrage. There is a pretty even split of subscribers who blame Spectrum and those who blame Disney. Some side with Spectrum and agree that Disney is being greedy with the situation. These argue that looking at numbers, Spectrum likely can’t afford what Disney wants.
Others, however, point out that they pay Spectrum Charter for a service. And, it is on the Spectrum to provide the service. These customers urge Spectrum to get it together because they pay them not Disney. So, the fallout with Disney should not be causing them to suffer. Moreover, customers argue it shouldn’t be their problem. Their problem to deal with or assist in fixing by visiting the site that Spectrum set up.

If Disney and Charter are unable to reach an agreement, DWTS fans will have to turn to another service provider. Fortunately, Disney+ will be streaming the new season of DWTS. Likewise, Charter customers can explore Hulu Live or YouTube Live for a suitable alternative provider.
