Craig Melvin Leaving ‘Today’ Show For Another Gig
Fans of Craig Melvin had mixed feelings as they enjoyed some bittersweet news of him leaving The Today Show for another gig. On one hand, fans wanted to celebrate his good news. But, on the other hand, fans were not happy about him walking away from his co-hosting slot.
As those who have followed his career know, he was previously an anchor at MSNBC. In August 2018, he landed a slot as an anchor on The Today Show. By October 2018, he became a co-host during the third hour of The Today Show. And, a year later, his co-hosting slot became permanent.
For a period of time, Craig Melvin did juggle multiple news anchor roles. Per The Sun, the news anchor made the decision to walk away from MSNBC about a year ago so he could focus more on his responsibilities with The Today Show.

Craig Melvin Leaving Today Show For Another Gig
Turns out, Craig is stepping away from The Today Show to host a charity event with his wife, Lindsay Czarniak. The news anchor explained the details of the charity on his Instagram.
Lindsay and I are thrilled to once again host The Bottoms Up Invitational concert and golf tournament September 24-25 in Connecticut to benefit the @ColorectalCancerAlliance.
His post continued: “This event is in honor of my brother Lawrence, who died from colorectal cancer three years ago, and all those affected by this disease. I hope you’ll join us for an incredible concert one month from today with Hootie & the Blowfish, Branford Marsalis, Javier Colon, Chris Barron, Ray Bourdreaux, Edwin McCain and Preston Pohl.”

Fortunately, it sounds as though The Today Show viewers don’t really have to worry about saying goodbye to Craig. He is just walking away from the show for a few days to dedicate his time and energy to this charity that means so much to him.
His Followers React To The Exciting News
His announcement on Instagram was liked over 1,000 times with a few dozen dropping in to leave a comment. The charity itself was among the first to comment on the post.
The charity penned in its comment: “Such an important event for such an important cause! We’re so grateful to you both for all you do to raise awareness and funds for colorectal cancer.”
His 346K Instagram followers were in awe of what Craig and his beautiful wife stepped up to do. Many dropped single-word praises in the comments of his post including “iconic” and “amazing.” A few even sent prayers and noted they were sorry to hear about how his brother passed away.
