Charity Lawson Different Ending If Xavier Shared Secret Earlier?
Bachelorette Charity Lawson is reaching the end of her journey and is now down to two men. Fans saw her send Xavier Bonner home during fantasy suites after he admitted to past infidelity in his last relationship. After being stunned by his answers and the fact that he waited so long to share this information, she sent him home. Now, Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked her if things would be different had he told her about cheating earlier on. Keep reading to find out more.
Charity Lawson reveals if things could have been different with Xavier
Xavier Bonner appeared to be a major front-runner for Charity Lawson. In fact, many thought he won The Bachelorette. However, those rumors and predictions proved to be false. But, if she had known sooner about his past indiscretions would he still be in the running for her heart?
Charity Lawson spoke with Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile on Bachelor Happy Hour about her breakup with Xavier. They wanted to know how things would have been handled if she had known sooner. Bachelor Nation had the scoop.
The Bachelorette shared that had she of known on their first one-on-one she probably would have sent him home then. She said, “If he would have told me on our first one-on-one, I wouldn’t have kept him around. It’s plain and simple. I work with the information I get in those moments and in those conversations. That’s the tricky part of being in this position. I don’t feel like at all times I’m getting everything that I need. It’s up to me to ask these questions.”
However, she also shared that it wasn’t so much that he had done what he did but rather that he avoided answering her questions or the way he answered them.
He kept digging himself deeper
Overall, Xavier kept digging himself even deeper. He could have answered the questions following his confession differently and still had a chance to be with her.
However, he didn’t and so she sent him home. It was as if he couldn’t promise it would never happen again. Xavier later revealed that this was the deepest secret he had and telling Charity was the first time he admitted it.
Charity said, “It was really, why didn’t he share that? It was the questions that came up after the fact. Like, it was a mistake that was made in the past. I told him time and time again that I commend you for opening up about this, but it’s everything that came after. The follow-up questions that I asked him, he just continued to dig a deeper hole.”
Now, she is content with her decision. In fact, she will be choosing from two incredible men on the season final of The Bachelorette Monday night. Either Joey or Dotun will be down on one knee proposing. Who do you think it will be?
