Big Brother Matt Klotz’s hidden tattoo

Houseguests come into the Big Brother house all the time with tattoos representing themselves. Normally, the house is full of all different types of people, so the artwork on their bodies can greatly vary. However, it doesn’t seem to be all that often that Big Brother forces someone to cover a tattoo up. This season though, that seems to be exactly what has happened to Matt Klotz.

Fans have noticed that every time Matt is shirtless, his large shoulder tattoo is covered with nude bandages. So, what is the ink and why does it have to remain covered? Well, on Matt’s Instagram, he actually revealed exactly what the artwork is and why it is so special to him.

Matt is a Deaflympics gold medalist. So, to represent that, his shoulder ink features the Olympic rings, with the Deaflympics logo in the center. Needless to say, this tattoo is very special to him. He even addresses that in the caption of a photo he posted when he got the artwork retouched.

“Finally cut off the long messy hair and got my tattoo retouched🏊🏆,” he writes all the way back in 2015. “having the retouch was almost like starting over again for me… So many things I cannot even explain has happened to me these past few months of struggling with (PCS) Post Concussion Syndrome, but that’s a whole another story to tell later on,” he says.

He continues to talk about the love and support he gets from everyone. So, clearly, this tattoo carries some meaning for the athlete.

Why is it covered?

Of course, Big Brother has yet to mention why Matt has to keep his artwork covered. However, according to ScreenRant, there could be a few different reasons for opting to keep things hidden. First, the Olympics airs on NBC and of course, Big Brother is on CBS. Traditionally, no station would want to promote another. Especially when they are such direct competitors.

Another has to do with copyright issues. Not only is this the Deaflypics logo, but also someone’s artwork. They may have needed to get permission from the artist to display it and it was easier to just keep things covered.
