This season, Big Brother fans were excited to see even more inclusion in the BB house. CBS introduced Matt Klotz to the cast, a Deaflympics gold medalist. However, rumors are starting to fly after seemingly no accommodations were made for Matt during an intense HOH competition – or any part of the game so far. Keep reading to find out what people are saying and how CBS may be handling the situation.

Big Brother Matt Klotz safe for the week?

Things might be changing in the BB house and it all started with a competition. This week on Big Brother, houseguests went to the “Netheregion” where they competed for the Head of Household title. During this game, the “Nethergorgon” would come over the intercom and tell the houseguests where they had to hide to stay safe. However, the voice was distorted, adding to the spooky effect. While this was probably fine for some houseguests, it seems that deaf houseguest, Matt Klotz was at a serious disadvantage when it came to the competition.

It doesn’t end there though. Any BB fan knows that after the HOH comp comes the Power of Veto competition. During this competition this week, the live feeds went down as expected, however, they stayed down for most of the day. Of course, this had fans questioning what exactly happened. Some speculated a new twist or an injury. However, now, the mystery may be coming to light. According to one Big Brother fan, the feeds might have been off because they had to give Matt immunity after seeing what a disadvantage he has been at all week.

“Production had to give houseguest Matt Klotz, who is deaf, immunity after he was severely disadvantaged in a competition,” the tweet starts. “Live feeds were shut off in attempt to conceal this from fans.”

Finally, they show their frustration with how the whole situation has been handled by writing “It is egregious to cast a deaf houseguest and make no attempt to accommodate.”

Calling out the network

Of course, this left fans outraged, and several sounded off in the comments, agreeing that Matt should be better taken care of.

  • “They accommodated to xmas let her vote from the hospital. Gave Jasmine a walker. But didn’t prepare to have a deaf houseguest? They had time. What a shame. They do need to do better!”
  • “A bidet was installed in the bathroom to accommodate Jag’a religious beliefs. Why can’t a teleprompter be installed to accommodate the fact that he is DEAF?”

CBS has yet to confirm Matt’s immunity, However, hopefully, fans will see some accommodations to make the show fair for Matt during live evictions on Thursday. Otherwise, it seems CBS will be dealing with some very unhappy viewers.
