According to The Futon Critic, 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas is  trying to navigate high school. It is hard to make friends. Therefore, she feels pretty isolated.
However, popular, married teacher Tad Cummings starts to hang out with the teenage student. Tad is considered very trusted, so Elizabeth feels very secure spending time with the charming and fun teacher. Elizabeth does not realize he is grooming her. He has been doing this for months.
Once another student catches Tad and Elizabeth in an inappropriate embrace and kiss, Mr. Cummings convinces Elizabeth to run off with her. They leave Tennessee and head out to California, where authorities finally find them.
Now, Elizabeth returns home to an unfriendly town. They think she is to blame for her abduction. Can she stand up in court and face her accuser and send him off to jail?
