‘GMA’ Fans Excited As Robin Roberts Finally Breaks Silence
Robin Roberts was missing from Good Morning America on Friday, and fans have been concerned about her whereabouts. Roberts has finally checked back in and broke her silence on why she has been missing. It has fans very happy for her.

Robin Roberts checks in amidst GMA absence
Robin Roberts was missing in action when Good Morning America aired on Friday and fans wondered where she could be at. The anchor didn’t wait long to let fans know what happened and she broke her silence on her absence. Robin shared a photo of the Mayo Clinic logo (via The U.S. Sun) and a plate of dessert. On the plate was some red gel that read “Congratulations Robin & Amber.” It also contained cake with flowers on top.
This was all about Robin and Amber Laign’s upcoming wedding. That is when Robin said where she was instead of on Good Morning America. Robin was at the Mayo Clinic Board of Trustees Meetings in Rochester, Minnesota. She said that they had a surprise for her and Amber at the meeting to celebrate their upcoming wedding. “We so appreciate and love our Mayo family. Wishing all a wonderful weekend,” she wrote.
She also added a champagne and heart emoji to the post. Fans then flooded the comment section of the post, wishing Robin & Amber congratulations and saying how great it was to hear from her.
Robin & Amber’s wedding is coming up
Robin Roberts and Amber Laign met on a blind date in July 2005. This means they have been together for 18 years, although they never publicly revealed their relationship until 2013. Robin showed the first photo of Amber on TV in 2014. Robin shared a lot more about their relationship in her memoir, Everybody’s Got Something, which came out in 2014. She said mutual friends set them up and Amber didn’t know who Robin was, never seeing her on sports broadcasts or on the morning talk show.
The couple went through some hard times in 2022 when Amber received a breast cancer diagnosis. She had surgery that year and they said the prognosis was good. By July of that year, Amber had completed her radiation treatment and Robin was by her side the entire fight. Six months later, Robin announced that she and Amber were finally going to get married in 2023. “It was something we had talked about but we had put it off, she became ill but … it is saying yes to that, and that next chapter,” Robin said.
Now, with the celebration from the Mayo Clinic, it seems the wedding is growing near. They even had a live bachelorette party on August 16, live on Good Morning America.
