Will Cory Wharton Be In A ‘Teen Mom’ Spinoff?
Cory Wharton’s reality TV show profile is already robust. The MTV star was part of The Challenge and a supporting cast member in Teen Mom OG. He was part of the show with his daughter Ryder and her mother Cheyenne Floyd. He seems to be a natural and gaining traction in his fandom. In recent news, Cory Wharton’s fans were saddened as he told devasting news about his daughter Maya. He has used his platform with Teen Mom to shed light on some very heavy family challenges. He has been in the celebrity spotlight for a long time so it isn’t too far-fetched that he wants to continue padding his stardom resume and branching out to a new series.
Cory Wharton’s Reality
Overall, Cory Wharton has been on a variety of reality TV shows. Firstly, he is one of the original roommates on Real World: Ex-Plosion. Particularly he gained a following with The Challenge. Partly because Cory went on to be on multiple seasons of The Challenge. He has also earned recognition for his competitiveness in the show and is known for being one of the best in the game. In 2017, Cory welcomed his first daughter, Ryder. During that time he was together with his fellow contestant in The Challenge: Rivals III, Cheyenne Floyd. The two later joined the cast of Teen Mom OG in 2018. Wharton also appeared in Teen Mom Family Reunion and Season 2 of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. In the same way, he is all for moving forward with another reality TV series.

What Does Future Filming Look Like For Cory Wharton?
Cory Wharton teased on Instagram about his upcoming return. He said, “I’m BACK!!! It’s been 2 long years since I’ve been on The Challenge. But don’t worry my return is coming though August 10th on @cbstv I’m excited to become part of the CBS family they took a gamble on me & let’s see how it plays out 😈 Let the games begin ❤️🔥.”
Cory’s girlfriend Taylor Selfridge, and mother of daughter Maya, joined him on the latest season of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. During Season 2 they shared their family’s story. Unquestionably that included their daughters Mila and Maya. This allowed him to give insight into his family and their lives in a very personal way. Interviewing with The Daily Mail, Cory gave an account of his 1-year-old daughter Maya’s congenital heart condition. He also touched on his co-parenting relationship with Cheyenne Floyd as well. He shared he hopes to extend his reality TV presence. For Cory, although he appears in Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, the majority of his interactions in the show are based on Cheyenne’s storyline more than his own.
What About Teen Dad?
Admittedly, Cory Wharton knows the show is Teen Mom, but what about the perspective of a teen dad? “I would say the biggest thing about Teen Mom is that it’s through Cheyenne’s voice,” Cory said. Cory explained, “So we’re like kind of side characters in the show, so we just kind of do our thing and have fun with it.” Elaborating more, Cory said, “I would love a show about what’s going on and our co-parenting thing because I think we can be very entertaining.”

Cory Wharton wants to be able to add more depth to how a family co-parents and navigates through good and difficult times. For instance, they have faced little Maya’s heart challenges. She was born with Tricuspid atresia. That is to say, she was born without the valve that controls blood flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle. Big things like this affect every family member. Cory Wharton expressed on Instagram that family means everything to him now. He has traveled through many life lessons to begin to truly appreciate that fact.

Yess!! I think this is a great idea that Cory has because more fathers need to see examples of what coparenting should look like. Especially if they didn’t have a good example growing up.
