In the series, Big Boi and Janice Faison remodel REVs for different clients. It is similar to Pimp My Ride. However, not to be outdone, Kelly spoke up about a new show she is part of for anyone who wants to see her outside of Live. This new show is called Generation Gap, which airs on Thursday evenings. Kelly hosts the show, which sees children working with their grandparents to answer pop culture questions.

Generation Gap started airing in 2022, with Kelly Ripa as the host. The pop culture questions range from the past to the present day. The grandchildren get to pick out the grand prize. They can choose a new car or a toy aimed toward the kids. The game show is a spinoff from a similar segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! There were nine episodes in the first season and the show is in the midst of its second season in 2023.

She also shared a special older photo of her son Joaquin with his grandfather to help promote the idea behind the show.

Kelly Ripa on an extended break from Live

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos opened Monday’s show with Kelly saying that she wasn’t going to be on the show the next day and might not be back. She joked she was going to possibly leave forever if she could hit the $900 million Powerball. She was clearly joking, but she has some fans worried as she missed the rest of the week.

The day after the $900 Powerball was drawn, Kelly was nowhere to be found. Maria Menounos replaced Kelly for the show and the explanation was that she was out “on assignment.” However, anyone who misses her can catch her hosting the Generation Gap episodes every Thursday night.
