Honey Boo Boo Breaks Silence, First Affection From Mom In Years
Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo‘ Thompson is breaking her silence on the first affection she received from her mother in years. In the latest episode of Mama June: Family Crisis, Alana and her siblings had a retreat with their mother. It was time to fix the damage that they had endured over many years. Honey Boo Boo Breaks Silence, First Affection From Mom In Years
Things have been really bad between Mama June and her girls this season of Family Crisis. She is estranged from Honey Boo Boo, Jessica ‘Chubbs’ Shannon, and Lauryn ‘Pumpkin‘ Efird. Yet, she is having a vow renewal with her husband, Justin Stroud, and is desperate for her girls to be there. Plus, she lied to Justin’s mom, Mama Dukes about having this great relationship with her daughters. That did not sit well with Justin whatsoever. June moved to Alabama without telling anyone and resents having to pay Pumpkin child support for Alana. It is really just a mess.
Mama June contacted Dr. Ish who has worked with them all before and knew he was the only one who could help. He gathered them all for a retreat to air all of their grievances. Of course, the girls were reluctant as they felt that June just wanted to use this to get them to come to their wedding. In an emotional scene, June finally saw her girls break down and Dr. Ish encouraged her to embrace them. It was the first time in years she had hugged Honey Boo Boo. Now, according to People, the seventeen-year-old is reflecting upon that moment.
Dr. Ish had Honey Boo Boo come to Mama June, give her one of her hands, and allow her to be emotional. June and Alana shared that they had fun together, they love each other but the latter was happy that this communication did not happen over text. Alana soon got emotional over all that June missed in her life so Dr. Ish suggested June console her. Finally, the two come together and learn how to embrace.
What It Meant
This has not happened for many years, as Honey Boo Boo explained. Privately, she had this to say about getting affection from her mother: “This is the first time Mama’s actually really gave me a hug in probably about five or six years. And it feels good to get an actual loving hug from your mama. It really did feel nice, I’m not gonna lie.” She also noted that she wished her mother had been there for big moments in her life, especially since she was a senior at the time. Alana said she is always saying “my sister, my sister” when she wanted it to be her mother.
