‘BIP’ Season 9: Katie Thurston Shows Up In Mexico, Why?
Bachelor in Paradise reportedly had another former lead show up in Mexico. Katie Thurston is said to have made her way to the beach in Mexico. Why was she there? Keep reading to find out more.
Why was Katie Thurston on BIP?
Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston reportedly went to Mexico to make an appearance on Bachelor in Paradise Season 9. Previously, Katie had said the franchise would have to pay her a lot of money to agree to look for love on the beach. Did they agree and she went to be a cast member?
In short, that answer is no. Reality Steve reported that Katie did make an appearance in Mexico but not as a cast member. As they have done in the past with other fan faves, Katie was there to give out a date card. However, she did get more out of it than just handing out a date.
Blake Moynes has been reported to be on Season 9 as well. Recall, Katie and Blake were engaged and broke up just a short time after her finale aired. So, according to Steve, Katie was able to sit with Blake and talk about everything that had happened. They reportedly got the closure they needed from their breakup.

Blake and Katie’s split came as a surprise to many fans. They seemed to fit while the season was airing. However, they both came to realize they were really not compatible in the real world.
Their split became a hot topic in Bachelor Nation because shortly after their breakup she announced a new relationship. There were questions surrounding Katie’s timeline of beginning to date John Hersey. She and John denied any wrongdoing and said they were not together while Katie was still engaged to Blake.
Blake questioned that timeline for a long time. Did they talk about it on the beach? Fans will have to wait and find out when BIP Season 9 airs this fall.
Katie and John dated for several months then they also split. Since then, Katie has not been in any public relationships. Instead, she appears to be loving the single life.
She has hinted before that she has an issue with commitment when she shared Taylor Swift lyrics.
