What Is Hallmark’s Aurora Teagarden: Something New About?
HMM is bringing back Aurora Teagarden in a totally different era. This is post-college Roe. What is Something New About? According to the Hallmark synopsis, after completing college, Aurora returns to Lawrenceton to get her post-bachelors degree.
However, she is focused on some major career questions. She has no idea what her thesis should be. Meanwhile, at the local college, she is a teacher’s assistant for a crime fiction class. She finds herself immersed in classic whodunits, and talking about them with the students.
But, she needs to make more money to make ends meet. This means she has to take a flexible job to make money. Therefore, she waitresses at the local diner at night. This way, she can focus on school during the day, and taking burger orders at night.
However, at the diner, she and her friend Sally talk about true crime all of the time. They talk about theories, quirks, and how the killers were uncovered. Arthur, a police officer in town, is always hanging out at the diner, grabbing a meal, and always conversing with the two women. It seems pretty obvious that he finds Roe fascinating.
Best of all, now that Aurora and Sally are connecting again their friendship has taken a big turn. Her friend is now engaged, and will soon be married. Most importantly, Sally has asked Aurora to be her Maid of Honor. What an honor!
Therefore, when Sally’s fiancé doesn’t show up at the rehearsal, both women are concerned. While Sally goes off to deal with this situation, Aurora manages to convince Arthur to help her find the absent fiancé.
Their search turns up a body. But, it is not Sally’s fiancé. Now, the missing groom-to-be is suspect number one. Can they find him and solve this murder mystery?
Who Is Starring In Aurora Teagarden: Something New?
Starring in Aurora Teagarden: Something New is Skylar Samuels (The Gabby Petito Story) as young Aurora. In addition, Evan Roderick (Autumn In The City) stars as young Arthur. Marilu Henner (A Kismet Christmas) is back as Aida. Lastly, Kayla Heller (Superman & Lois) portrays Sally.
Hallmark made sure that they got the story right. Therefore, long-time Aurora Teagarden scriptwriter Teena Booth is back, with Jessica Harmon (A Paris Proposal) directing.
