‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Announces New Season 2 Trailer

MAPPA recently gave the announcement of a new Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 trailer premiering very soon. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 feels incredibly close at this point. There are only a few months left before the long-awaited premiere of one of the most popular new anime in the world. With that popularity comes legions of fans who are anxiously hoping for any new content from the show while the release date remains at a distance. And it seems like some of that new content is coming. MAPPA, the animation studio responsible for Season 2, recently gave an announcement concerning the release of a new trailer.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2

A recent tweet from the official Japanese account for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is what confirms the new trailer’s release. It’s a long tweet with a lot of information about things like new opening and closing tracks. But the main thing of interest is the announcement of a new Season 2 trailer. The trailer will be arriving on May 21st. It’s coming as part of a stage event MAPPA will be putting on the same day. The content of this upcoming trailer is unknown as of right now. The previous Season 2 trailer had a lot of Satoru Gojo and not much of Yuji or any of the other up-and-coming sorcerers.

 

Now, that’s because the beginning of Season 2 will focus on an arc concerning Gojo’s backstory. Gojo’s backstory previously was touched on in the wildly successful movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0. But the beginning of Season 2 will delve even further into detail as to how he became so powerful. So the beginning of Season 2 will be a bit of a strange detour before it really gets back into the swing of things with the main story at hand.

Fans are likely hoping that this upcoming trailer will show off a bit of that main story. The first arc once Gojo’s backstory is done will be the “Shibuya Incident”. So this new trailer may contain a sneak preview of that. Hopefully, it does, because it’s been more than two years since fans saw or heard anything from Yuji or Fushiguro. It’s about time they made their return.

This Summer

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is set to make this summer an extremely exciting season for anime. However,  just because it’s the most popular show released in the warm months doesn’t mean it’s the only thing to look forward to. Other popular shows like Spy Classroom and Masamune-kun will be getting new seasons this summer as well. Not to mention the viral upcoming premiere of Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon. Which will undoubtedly be as silly as it sounds, but hopefully in a good way.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be premiering July 6th on Crunchyroll in the US.
