What Does Peta Murgatroyd’s Son Want To Call His Baby Sibling?
After trying to conceive for several years, professional dancers Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy were so excited to reveal that their second child is on the way.
Over the years, the family experienced a series of tragic miscarriages. Thankfully, that is now behind them as they prepare to welcome their second child.
The new baby will also have a big brother looking out for them. Six-year-old Shai Chmerkovskiy is ready for his new sibling to arrive — and has some really creative names on his list.
Peta Murgatroyd reveals that Shai already picked out a name for the new baby
Shai Chmerkovskiy is so ready to meet his new sibling. Although his parents have been largely tight-lipped about the new baby, they did confirm Peta would give birth in June.
As for the gender and a list of possible baby names, the family has chosen to keep that information to themselves. But that’s not going to stop Shai from coming up with his own creative list of names.
Shai is only six years old, but he already has a wild imagination. His chosen name for the baby has his parents laughing — “Baby Snakes.”
“He’s so funny. No. We won’t be using that name for the baby, but he cannot wait to share his toys,” Peta shared with OK! Magazine. “I think he’s just looking forward to having a teammate here. Somebody that he can love.”
Thankfully, it seems like Peta is enjoying a healthy pregnancy this time. However, her previous miscarriages were difficult to explain to her son. Although it’s a painful subject, the dancer bravely spoke about it with OK! as well.
“He said, just this morning when we woke up, he said, ‘Mummy is the baby okay? I hope the egg didn’t crack yet,'” she revealed, explaining how she told him about the miscarriages in a way that he would understand. “I had to tell him there was an egg in there and ‘I’m so sorry, baby, but the egg broke.’ I would make up these stories and try to make it very PG for his little brain to try to process.”
The family spends quality time together while they wait for the new baby
June 2023 isn’t very far away, which means Shai won’t have to wait much longer for his sibling to arrive. But in the meantime, the entire family is having a blast together.
After the Super Bowl, Peta Murgatroyd channeled her inner Rihanna and recreated the singer’s iconic performance — baby bump and all. Maks and Shai dressed in white and pretended to be Rihanna’s backup dancers from the halftime show.
