Gleb Savchenko Shares Opinions On Tyra Banks’ Dramatic Exit
Dancing With The Stars pros don’t know if they’ll be invited to rejoin until just before the season premiere. But Season 31 finalist Gleb Savchenko is excited and ready to be back in the ballroom this fall.
This year, there are going to be a few changes. Hostess Tyra Banks won’t return and the show will film in a new location.
Gleb Savchenko has been with the show for a very long time. So what does he have to say about the changes ahead?
Gleb Savchenko takes the high road when it comes to Tyra Banks
It’s going to be quite some time before DWTS Season 32 kicks off, but Gleb Savchenko has some thoughts and opinions about the series. He took some time to chat with E! News about some of the changes.
Most notably, what did he think about Tyra Banks’ untimely departure?
Most people seemed to think that Tyra Banks would return as the show hostess this fall. However, she dropped a bombshell when she told TMZ that she was leaving the show to focus on her personal business endeavors.
“Tyra, I wish her the best. She was great, I love her so much. She’s a businesswoman, I’m sure she’ll be fine,” Gleb Savchenko told E! News.
Although Tyra’s exit caught the DWTS executive team off guard, many of her former colleagues have opted to keep things classy. No matter what their true feelings are, many have echoed Gleb’s sentiments. Ultimately, no one seems too heartbroken over the 49-year-old’s dramatic and unexpected exit from the series.
Many fans hoped that Tom Bergeron would get his old job back, but it doesn’t seem like that will be the cast after all. Instead, former DWTS pro Julianne Hough will step into Tyra Banks’ shoes this fall. Alfonso Ribeiro will return as the cohost.
“I love Tom, but I also love Alfonso so much,” Gleb Savchenko said in his interview. “Alfonso melts my heart, he’s great. I think Alfonso and Julianne are going to have such a good chemistry, such a good vibe. They’ll just bounce off each other and we’re gonna have a lot of fun.”
It seems like Julianne Hough will be a welcome addition to the show
As far as Julianne Hough goes, Gleb Savchenko is delighted to have her back in the ballroom.
“I love Julianne and I hope we get the chance to do group opening numbers,” the father of two admitted. “Julianne has been part of the show for so long—she’s been a judge, she’s been a dancer, she’s been there for many seasons, she’s won twice. She knows the show inside out and it’s great to have her back.”
