Hallmark Making Third ‘Curious Caterer’ Mystery Starring Nikki DeLoach, Andrew Walker
Sleuthers, Hallmark has been ramping up their mystery series production in 2023. Moreover, they are ready to make a third Curious Caterer. That means Nikki DeLoach and Andrew W. Walker are filming together once again.
What do we know about this upcoming Signature Mystery Movie?
Hallmark Is Ordering Up Another Curious Caterer Mystery
Fans of Goldy Berry the caterer (DeLoach) and Detective Tom Schultz are getting a third mystery! According to the Creative BC website, the next movie in the series is called Curious Caterer: Last Suppers. They are scheduled to film between April 10-April 28, 2023.
The post also revealed that Paul Ziller is back directing. He directed the last mystery in the series, Grilling Season.
What Do We Know About Curious Caterer: Last Suppers?
What do we know about the movie? Although the listing does not give details about the script, we know that this Hallmark mystery is based on a Diane Mott Davidson cozy mystery book. According to the Amazon.com description of the novel, this book centers on Goldy and Tom’s wedding. Of course, the caterer made her own wedding cake, and we assume she prepared a gourmet menu. It all has to be perfect, right?
However, at the eleventh hour, the groom telephones to call off the wedding. That is because there is a murder. In the book, Tom heads to the chapel, but Father Olson, the rector who is going to marry the couple, is found shot. He is dying. But, when the other officers arrive, they find the dead man. But, they do not find Tom anywhere to be found.
Now, no one knows if he has cold feet, or if he is pursuing the murderer. Are there any clues to determine which it is? Well, Goldy is going to figure it out. She wants the truth and she is determined to get answers.
But, this murderer is crueler than any she has ever met before.
Now, we have to assume that Hallmark changed the story a bit. Firstly, because Goldy and Tom were not serious at the end of their last movie. In addition, it feels fast to see them engaged. It took five Crossword Mysteries to see Lacey and Brennan kiss! It seems unlikely that in the third movie, this pair of sleuths get hitched.
Mystery 101 Writer John Christian Plummer Did Not Write Script
What we do know about this particular Hallmark mystery is that John Christian Plummer did not write this script. Speaking to the Saving My Heart podcast, the Mystery 101 scribe revealed that he did not write the script for the third movie.
He also dished that Goldy’s ex-husband, Dr. Richard Korman (played by Lochlyn Munro) was pretty psychotic in the books. Therefore, Plummer had to make some changes adapting the book into a Hallmark script.
However, he did say that if Hallmark chooses to make a fourth Curious Caterer Mystery, he will be writing that script. He currently has been working on several projects that he is still keeping quiet about.
