GMA is scouting for a “family-friendly” replacement

On Thursday, March 2, Radar Online reported that ABC wants a “family-friendly” replacement like Ryan Seacrest for GMA3: What You Need to Know. Amy Robach and TJ Holmes got the boot after their affair leaked in November 2022.

They were married to other people at the time of their alleged affair. The GMA3 duo claim they were both separated. Since Ryan Seacrest announced his departure from LIVE! last month, GMA wants to scoop him up for themselves. His move is now “up in the air.”

“It’s a great fit for Ryan and the perfect fit for GMA, which is looking to restore its family-friendly reputation!” an alleged source told Radar Online. “He sees GMA as the perfect vehicle for him to be center stage again.”

Another source told the publication that they “penciled him in” and want to “reinvent” the morning show’s third-hour program. They think Ryan Seacrest is the perfect way to show off his entertainment chops. Ryan “really wants” the position because he knows he would be the “main attraction” that viewers tune into.

“Network bosses are looking at completely retooling GMA3 with a live audience, music, and celebrity guests in an effort to play to Ryan’s strengths and wash away the stain of the scandal,” the insider continued.

Ryan Seacrest leaves LIVE!

On February 16, 2023, Ryan Seacrest announced his departure from LIVE! this spring. The host wants to move back to Los Angeles, while the show films in New York. If the rumors are true, Ryan could stay on the east coast.

Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos will replace him. The talk show would be rebranded as Live with Kelly and Mark. Ryan will move out of NYC and to Los Angeles to film the live shows of Season 21 of American Idol.

Now, that could change since he’s reconsidering staying in the city that never sleeps. Ryan Seacrest is reportedly into the idea since he wouldn’t have a co-host. What’s interesting is that Kelly’s former co-host, Michael Strahan, left LIVE! to take on his new role as co-anchor of Good Morning America.
