One of the biggest moments in anime for this year, and maybe this decade, is just a week away. The first episode of Attack On Titan: The Final Season Part 3 is almost here. Just ahead of the first episode’s premiere, we have a new trailer. The hype is tangible after watching this new trailer. More so, the stakes are at the highest level possible and it seems like every character is on the brink of insanity. Let’s talk about everything going on in this trailer and what it means for the last part finale season.
The Finale Trailer
This is the longest trailer we’ve gotten for Part 3 of the final season yet at around one and a half minutes. Everything prior to this has been brief teasers showing just a couple of shots. This trailer gives us a much better feel for what this first episode is going to cover.
We see things we’ve seen before in previous teasers, albeit in better detail. Things like the massive titans arriving in Marley during “The Rumbling”, an Eren Yeager with dead eyes, and his former colleagues rushing to stop him. There’s also a lot of Hange in this trailer. It seems as though she’s going to be playing a major role in the plan to take down Eren here, and it seems like we actually see more of her in this trailer than any other main character.
We also see all of the main cast at the tree where Eren gained Ymir’s powers to begin the rumbling. How they got there and what they’re planning to do is unclear at this time. Yet, that whole group having access to the source of Eren’s colossal abilities could be catastrophic for his genocidal plan. The ending isn’t set in stone just yet, since many are curious whether or not MAPPA will follow creator Hajime Isayama’s original end to the story. It was fairly controversial in the manga when it came out, so there may be some creative liberties taken.
The End Of Attack On Titan
The Attack On Titan finale has been a long time coming. Fans have had to sit and wait less-than-patiently as the final season was split up into two parts, then three parts. Followed by the absolutely ridiculous reveal that the third part was being split into two parts. Confusing enough for you? Hopefully, the episodes themselves won’t be quite so confusing. Clearly, MAPPA has been taking its time to ensure this finale meets the sky-high expectations many have. And from the looks of the trailer, they’re going to hit those expectations right on the bullseye.
Attack On Titan: The Final Season Part 3 airs its first episode on March 3rd. It will be available to stream on Crunchyroll in the US. Will you be watching?
