UPtv’s Sweet On You concludes their Flirty February programming. Based on a true story, Sweet On You stars Haylie Duff (Blending Christmas, Hats Off To Christmas), and Rob Mayes (Mistresses, NCIS).
Marla Sokoloff both wrote and directed (Hall Pass Nightmare, Home, But Not Alone) this new movie. This project is a labor of love for one of the stars of this movie.
What Is UPtv’s Sweet On You About?
According to the UPtv synopsis, Kate Davies (Duff) owns Pearls Pie Place and bakes with love. She loves her small town of Cedar Creek. Everyone knows each other and they all support each other.
Unfortunately, Kate just lost her mother. She is still mourning this significant loss and is trying to rebuild her life. Her life makes a drastic change when she meets Drew Ellis (Mayes). He is in town because he inherited some land.
The two connect, and they are very involved with each other. However, when Kate finds out more about his reason for staying in Cedar Creek, she is angry. Will love find a way to make this all work out?

UPtv’s Sweet On You A First For Marla Sokoloff
Marla Sokoloff is both the writer and the director of UPtv’s Sweet On You. This is the first time that she has ever directed something that she has written. While this is special, the story it is based on makes this story even sweeter.
Speaking to Digital Journal, the Fuller House alum revealed that Sweet On You is “loosely based” on Haylie Duff’s grandfather, and “him inheriting land.” Moreover, Haylie’s daughter Ryan is also in this movie, in her acting debut.
Referring to Duff, Sokoloff revealed that this movie “allowed me to work with one of my oldest friends.” The experience was great.
Most of all, Sokoloff loves what she is doing. She realizes that people love romcoms. This helps them escape the stresses of normal life.
This movie has different moments that I am really proud of in a romantic comedy. There are some funny quirks, there are complex and exciting characters and bringing back the romantic comedy is something I would like to do more of because it’s the best genre. People want to watch this content in order to escape.
