A Life Taken Too Soon
As many will remember, the heartbreaking news of Aaron Carter’s death last November sent shockwaves through the entertainment community. The singer and rapper had been living in Lancaster, California when paramedics were called to his home. His body had been discovered by his housekeeper. While his cause of death has yet to be released, rumors have swirled that he overdosed on some kind of illegal substance. Law enforcement had been at his home recently due to his erratic behaviors. Many believed his actions were fueled by drug use. There were also some reports that he drowned in his bathtub.
Aaron had previously struggled with addiction and had spent time in rehab at least five times. His sister, Leslie died from a drug overdose in 2012. Her death was attributed to prescription medication.
Singer, Rapper, Brother
Aaron Carter began his musical career when he was only seven years old. The younger brother to popular Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, Aaron fell in love with music at a very young age. Fans fondly remember his songs such as “I Want Candy” and “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)”. A couple of his albums were certified as Platinum and Gold before he turned 18.
Not only was he the younger brother of Nick Carter, but Aaron also had three sisters including his twin sister, Angel. He also shared a son, Prince, with his former fiance Melanie Martin. In the years before his death, he and his sister were estranged. However, after he was cremated, the ashes were given to his twin.
Grammys Snub
The Grammy’s are one of the music industry’s biggest and most well-known award ceremonies. Each year singers are nominated for categories such as Best New Artist, Best Album of the Year, Best Music Video, and more. Although Aaron was never nominated for an award, fans fully expected him to be listed during the “In Memoriam” section of the evening. However, when the section was revealed, Aaron Carter’s name was not on the list.

Artists that were listed included Olivia Newton-John, David Crosby, Lisa Marie Presley, Loretta Lynn, Jeff Beck, Naomi Judd, and many more. Fans were shocked at the snub. Aaron Carter had sold 10 million albums and had been a performer for most of his life. It would seem like he would be an obvious choice for the tribute. At this time, his older brother Nick has not released a statement about this snub.

Shame on you Grammy's for not recognizing Aaron Carter for his contribution in the entertainment and music industry. Indeed, he was never nominated even once but doing this to him is such a rude act in your part. Where's the credibility and quality of that music awards?
