‘Carnival Row’ Season 2 Release Date And Cast Info

Carnival Row

Carnival Row Season 2 is finally arriving after a long wait between seasons. The Amazon Prime Video series aired its first season in 2019, but the second season was delayed when COVID-19 shut down production, and after four years, it is finally returning.

Here is what you need to know about Carnival Row Season 2.

Carnival Row Release Date

Carnival Row Season 1 premiered in August 2019. It has been over three years since the show made its debut, and fans have been waiting to see more since then. The steampunk fantasy series took on themes of racism, social upheaval, and imperialism, all in a world where it seems as scary as ever.

However, COVID-19 came along and production shut down on the series. This caused it to get delayed, but no one knew how long it would be before returning to Amazon Prime Video. The good news is that it is almost back.

Carnival Row

The Carnival Row Season 2 release date is Friday, February 17, on Amazon Prime Video. While Season 1 hit in its entirety in 2019 on August 30, this season will play out over a month, with two episodes a week. There are 10 episodes and the finale is on March 17.

What Is Carnival Row Season 2 About?

While the good news is that Carnival Row Season 2 hits Amazon Prime Video on February 17, there is also some bad news. The second season will also be the show’s last.

Carnival Row takes place in a European-looking location known as Burgue that contains a mix of humans and mythical creatures. Mythical creatures live in Carnival Row after fleeing their war-ravaged homeland. However, in their new home, they found racism and hatred among humans.

When a murder takes place, it causes even more strife between humans and mythical creatures. That is when a police detective with a solid link to the mythological characters takes on the case to find out who the killer is before it tears the community apart.

Carnival Row Cast

Orlando Bloom stars in Carnival Row as Philo, the officer investigating the murders. Cara Delevingne stars as Vignettte, a fae who is also Philo’s former lover.

While the cast remains familiar, the people behind the scenes have changed. Marc Guggenheim (Arrow) ran the series’ first season. However, the new showrunner is Erik Oleson (The Man in the High Castle). Co-creator Travis Beacham (who wrote the script the show is based on) also left the series due to creative differences.

Season 2 picks up with former inspector Philo investigating a series of gruesome murders stoking social tension. Meanwhile, Vignette and the Black Raven plot payback for the unjust oppression inflicted by The Burgue’s human leaders.
