The CW’s Superman & Lois has recast Lex Luthor and he is a zombie hunter. The popular villainous character was earlier played by Jon Cryer who was successful at showing the anti-hero’s puppet-master aspect. Back in December, Jon revealed that he won’t be reprising his role in the forthcoming season of the DC series. Ever since then, fans had been waiting to know who would be recast in the role. Now, there is a new face for the character. So, who will play Lex Luthor in the series’ upcoming season? Keep reading to find out the details!
Jon Cryer Won’t Reprise His Role As Lex Luthor
Jon Cryer had been informed by the network that the DC villain is set to be recast. Given that the Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch-led show isn’t really set in the Arrowverse, Cryer won’t be a part of the series.
While fans were disappointed at the news of Jon Cryer not reprising the role, they were excited to know who would take up the mantle.
Michael Cudlitz Debuts As Lex Luthor In Season 3
Now, as reported by Collider, it has finally been revealed that a popular zombie hunter will be the new Lex Luthor. Ahead of Season 3’s premiere on The CW on March 14, 2023, The Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz was announced as the new face of Lex. As Cudlitz debuts in the iconic role, it would have been years since the character dropped out of the public eye. Now, he is re-emerging from hiding and is hell-bent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on Superman and Lois. He feels both of them have wronged him.
Now, it would be interesting to see how the story plays out in the series and exactly how the villain seeks revenge.
What Will Superman & Lois Season 3 Be About?
Superman & Lois Season 3 will pick up after the titular hero defeated Ally Allston. The upcoming season will also see Clark and Lois working happily at the Smallville Gazette. However, the danger is just around the corner. A deadly enemy from the past will re-emerge with a promise to change Kent’s family forever.
Cudlitz is popular for playing Abraham in the zombie drama, The Walking Dead. He hasn’t just acted in the series but also directed four of its episodes. Some of his popular acting credits include TNT’s Southland for which the actor won the Critics Choice Award. He has also been a part of miniseries such as The Kids Are Alright, Clarice, and Band Of Brothers. The 58-year-old actor’s movie credits include Driven, A River Runs Through It, Grosse Pointe Black, and The Negotiator.
