It has been a four-year journey for Loughlin to get back to starring in a movie again. Back in March 2019, the Fuller House star’s life imploded. The actress spent two months in jail for participating in the College Admissions Scandal, and her husband five months.
What was the scandal? William “Rick” Singer got money from wealthy parents in exchange for admitting their college-age students into the University of Southern California. Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli exchanged $500,000 to Singer so that their daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose could get into UCLA.
When the news came out, Bill Abbott, then Hallmark CEO, fired Loughlin from the network. In addition, they stopped airing new episodes of When Calls The Heart. The producers then had to painstakingly remove any trace of Loughlin from the remaining episodes of Season 6.
After her prison sentence, Lori Loughlin did community service, as well as set up scholarships for students.
