‘Berserk’ Memorial English Dub Edition Brings Back OG Film Cast
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc-Memorial Edition now has an English dub streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll. Plus, if that wasn’t news enough for anime fans, the special edition brings back the OG cast from its trilogy movie. With fresh new cuts provided by the team at Studio 4°C, there never was a better time to dive back into the valiant world of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk. More so, the memorial edition started streaming on Crunchyroll on January 14, 2023. Keep reading to find out additional details on the new version!
Berserk Memorial Edition Is Directed By Studio Gaga
The anime’s memorial edition version is a part of the bigger Berserk celebration for The Golden Age Arc trilogy. Berserk: The Golden Age Arc-Memorial Edition also includes a Miura exhibition traveling around Japan. Moreover, the edition also has the first chapter penned by Studio Gaga under the watchful guidance of Miura’s close friend Kouji Mori after the original manga creator passed away in May 2021.

As per Anime News Network, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc movies were originally released between February 2012 and February 2013. The movies were directed by Studio 4°C’s director Toshiyuki Kubooka. So, anime fans that love dark fantasy themes shouldn’t miss out on the English dub version.
The dubbed version features the OG cast returning from the film trilogy that includes:

- Dave B. Mitchell as Bazuso
- Marc Diraison as Guts
- Carrie Keranen as Casca
- Kevin T. Collins as Griffith
- Frank Todaro as Louis
- Doug Erholtz as Corkus

- Luis Bermudez as Dan
- Michelle Newman as Rickert
Berserk Creator Kentaro Miura Passed Away At 54
Not just that, these returning voices are also from that of the original 1997 Berserk anime. The new re-cut version streaming currently on Crunchyroll includes The Golden Age Arc III-The Advent, The Golden Age Arc II-The Battle Of Doldrey, and The Golden Age Arc I-The Egg Of The King.

The series also expands on the story within these films by including brand-new scenes. Moreover, the final episode in the new edition also pays tribute to the franchise’s late creator, Kentaro Miura. Sadly, the creator passes away from an acute aortic dissection at the age of 54.
What Is Berserk’s Story About?
The series is set in a Medieval-style dark fantasy world. Berserk tells the tale of a lone sellsword named Guts. He finds himself forced to join the Band Of The Hawk which is a mercenary group led by Griffith. Even though Griffith wishes to role his own kingdom, the group is hired to assist Midland in its ongoing war campaign against the Chuder Empire.

However, during a battle at Doldrey, the opposing side takes Griffith alive. Eventually, the Band sets out on a mission to rescue him. Finally, the Memorial Edition brings together everything from the start of the series to Griffith’s capture.
