Henry Cavill’s ‘Warhammer 40K’ Has Hit A Snag
Henry Cavill’s latest Warhammer 40K series for Amazon has hit a major snafu. The Superman alum has run into a problem with a major detail that is essential to the future of this series.
Here is what we know.
Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40K Has Hit A Major Snafu
Henry Cavill’s upcoming Amazon series Warhammer 40K is already in trouble. Announced just a month ago, it appears that a major detail has been missed.
According to Business Live, Games Workshop, the parent company, has not signed an agreement with Amazon. This is necessary for a movie or television series.
They also report that Games Workshop plans to work with writers to develop the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Russ Mould, the investment director seemed enthusiastic about the likely monetary benefit to the organization. However, he did not indicate that anything would happen for several years, including a television or film project, or profits from the venture.
A final deal isn’t signed or sealed yet and even if or when it is made official it could be several years before any TV or film projects hit the screens and for Games Workshop to receive royalty payments.
It does not seem likely that fans will see a final result for quite some time. That is after a final deal is agreed upon and signed.
Henry Cavill’s Bad News Keeps Coming
Unfortunately, Henry Cavill’s 2022 turned out to be a disaster for his career. He seemingly abandoned his role as Geralt of Rivia on Netflix’s successful series The Witcher, for Superman. He was paid a reported eight million per season.
However, Supes was not to be under the new James Gunn regime.
Therefore, immediately after the disappointing DC news, Cavill surprised his fans by revealing his Warhammer 40K series plans. On Instagram, he shared these plans.
For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action. Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life. Partnering with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo has been a blessing beyond words, without her we might not have found the perfect home at Amazon. And having a home like Amazon will give us the freedom to be true to the massive scope of Warhammer. To all of you Warhammer fans out there, I promise to respect this IP that we love. I promise to bring you something familiar. And I endeavour to bring you something fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen.
Our first steps are to find our Filmmaker/Creator/Writer. Watch this space, my friends.
For The Emperor!

The Witcher Alum Visited Warhammer World
Growing up, the Cavill household was immersed in the world of Warhammer. Although The Argylle star kept his geeky passion a secret for many years, the Jersey-born actor has started to share his love of this intense fantasy world.
In 2022, Henry Cavill shared on Instagram his visit to Warhammer World, in the Nottingham area. This is the Games Workshop HQ where enthusiasts of the miniatures, board games, and dozens of books can congregate and check out all of the cool stuff.
However, at that time, he did not secure the much-needed rights to make this series. Do you still think there’s hope it will happen? Let us know in the comments.
