Sunny Hostin Admits To Plastic Surgeries, Feels No Shame
The View host Sunny Hostin is open and candid about her life when she feels it will help others. In a recent interview with People Magazine, she discussed her recent plastic surgeries. Sunny expressed how she felt about going under the knife and detailed the procedures she had. Why did she have plastic surgery and how does she feel about it now? Read on to find out.
Plastic Surgery Was for Her Health and Happiness
Sunny is clear that she decided on plastic surgery for her own health and happiness. The two-time author and The View talk show star said she has spent years struggling with her body image.
She didn’t make the decision overnight, but instead after many years of discomfort and pain. Sunny said by the time she was 16 years old, her breasts were a DD. And they only grew with childbirth. “My waist was small, but my top was so big I would wear a minimizer bra and a sports bra or a binder all the time.”
At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, her struggles became even more real. The dress had a built-in bra and she didn’t fit inside of it. She recalls sitting and not eating anything, keeping her hands close to her chest so she wouldn’t fall out of her dress. After that, she made an appointment for plastic surgery, as a “self-care” decision.
Last August, she had a breast reduction and lift. As well as liposuction on her waist and chin. The surgeon transformed her breasts from a G cup to a C cup. Sunny says she prances around nude at her house all of the time now because she feels great.
Sunny Hostin Expected to Feel Shame After Years of Being Self-Conscious
Hostin said she now feels like a “better version” of herself. She went on to explain how she expected to feel after having the surgery.” I thought I would feel shame, like, ‘Oh my God, I’m doing plastic surgery like all these crazy celebrities.’ But I don’t feel shame at all,” she admitted.
Sunny hopes being open about her plastic surgery will open up the conversation around this taboo topic. “I hope sharing my story will help more people. If they’re feeling so body-conscious, the way I was — they can do what they need to do to feel better,” she said.
