Zombie Fever Gets Real With Netflix’s ‘Zombieverse’ Reality Show
Netflix is ready to take zombie fever to the next level with its latest Korean reality show titled Zombieverse. Korean filmmakers and TV producers are popular for creating some of the most thrilling titles in the horror genre. From the 2019 horror drama, Kingdom to the latest zombie thriller All Of Us Are Dead, Netflix has invested heavily in the zombie universe. Now, the streamer has stepped up its game with a zombie-themed Korean reality show partnered with Kakao Entertainment. So, what is Zombieverse about? Keep reading to find out the details!
Netflix’s Zombieverse Is Set In A Post-Apocalyptic Seoul
On Monday, the streaming giant announced the details of the reality TV. It is based on a universe that follows a group of contestants that fight for survival as Seoul comes under a zombie attack. The upcoming reality show is helmed by Park Jin-Kyung and Moon Sang-don. Jin-Kyung is also popular for his work as a director and writer of titles like Ant Be Like Ddun Ddun and My Little Television. As per What’s On Netflix, the cast of the upcoming zombie-reality series includes comedians like Park Na-Rae and Noh Hong-Chul. Also starring in the show are singers Tsuki and Din Din accompanied by actress Si-young. Together, they will complete several tasks in Seoul, which is overrun by Zombies. As they brave through the series of quests, they have to secure their own food, safety, and shelter.
Zombieverse Stars Lee Jin-Wook From Sweet Home
Noh previously starred in Netflix’s The Hungry And The Hairy released in 2021. In 2019, Park’s stand-up comedy show, Park Na-Rae: Glamour Warning made it to the streamer. Lee has starred in Netflix’s horror drama series Sweet Home released in 2021. The Netflix series is now confirmed for two more seasons. However, there is no release date yet.
The reality show producers explained that the zombie show will give the audience a vicarious thrill as they watch real folks struggle to survive as humanity is on the brink of extinction.

Describing the show, director Park said,
“I collaborated with Netflix for the first time through ‘Zombieverse,’ and the filming has already been completed. It is a TV project that started with a simple question, ‘How would people react if zombies appear in the real world?’ It will be interesting to watch what role the contestants play- a hero, a villain, or a bystander.”
Netflix Korea Is Investing Heavily In Unscripted Series
The team of All Of Us Are Dead helped create a thrilling and realistic zombie reality show. Additionally, Kingdom choreographers trained the zombies cast in the show. Moreover, back in July 2022, Netflix Korea declared that it will aggressively invest in different forms of unscripted series.

Among the titles making it to the streamer is Physical 100 which is a reality survival show where 100 participants enter the game to compete and become the fittest individual. The series will be available on Netflix on January 24. However, there is no release date for Zombieverse yet.
