Kelly Dodd’s Husband Rick Leventhal In Nearly Fatal Car Crash
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kelly Dodd took to Instagram on Tuesday night as her husband Rick Leventhal had been hospitalized after being involved in a nearly fatal car accident on the Southern California freeway. According to TMZ, the Bravo alum’s husband very nearly escaped death. Have there been any updates on how her husband is doing? Kelly Dodd penned on Instagram: “There will be no smash tomorrow on @youtube the rick and kelly show. My husband got in a horrible car accident. He is in the ER.. please say prayers.” Her post included a photo of her husband’s smashed white Mercedes-Benz S-Class on the wet and slick freeway.
The RHOC alum proceeded to tell her followers that her husband had broken ribs because of the accident. Rick Leventhal was transported to the hospital via ambulance. His Mercedes-Benz S-Class was reportedly totaled in the accident.

Fortunately, Kelly Dodd’s husband took to Instagram via video clip from his hospital bed to give everyone a quick update. He noted the accident could have been a lot worse and he was lucky to be alive. He explained they were keeping him in the hospital for observation, but they couldn’t find any internal bleeding and didn’t think anything else was wrong with him. He reports walking away from the accident with a fractured foot and four broken ribs.

After giving a health update, Kelly Dodd’s husband proceeded to recount the scary details of how the car accident transpired.
Rick Leventhal was driving on the I-10. He was roughly 40 minutes outside of Palm Desert. His Mercedes-Benz S-Class hydroplaned. Rick recalled losing complete control of his vehicle as he spun across several lanes of traffic. He recalled smashing into a wall before slamming into the back of a tractor-trailer. His windshield shattered and the airbags on his vehicle did deploy as a result of the accident. Fortunately, the driver of the truck was alright and able to help Rick out of his own vehicle.
