mefgarme thus Chainsaw Man Season 1 put out its finale with a huge finish to the Denji v. Katana Man fight. Season 1 was a massive success and the creators saw the fanbase expand exponentially across the world. So it is only natural to ask now, will there be a Season 2? How much more Chainsaw Man can we get? Is there a lot more source material manga for the show to pull from, or could the end be coming soon? Let’s look at when we can expect more episodes from the latest hit.
Fans Call For Season 2 Of Chainsaw Man
As of right now, there hasn’t been an official announcement about Season 2 just yet. Given the success of the first season, it is very likely that the Season 2 announcement is just around the corner. There really is no chance that a show as big as this doesn’t get a renewal. Prior to the show’s release, Chainsaw Man rated number 10 on AnimeJapan’s list of “Most Wanted Anime Adaptations.” The sales of the manga have risen rapidly in conjunction with the release of the first season. The typical gap between anime seasons produced by MAPPA (They handle Chainsaw Man as well as Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack On Titan) is 1 to 2 years. So if we don’t get Chainsaw Man Season 2 next year, we’ll at least have an announcement and an early trailer by the year’s end.
The real question is how much more Chainsaw Man can we get in the future? The first season of the anime went through a little over 4 Volumes of the manga. Everything from Dog & Chainsaw to a handful of chapters into Minor, and the end of the arc between Denji and Katana Man. Season 2 will pick up where that left off and finish the rest of Volume 5 and likely cover Volumes 6 through 8, maybe even 9 as well. As of right now, there are only 12 Volumes of Chainsaw Man in total. That only gives creators enough material for 3 seasons of the anime, at most. The good news is the manga is ongoing and, after a recent hiatus, will begin releasing new chapters soon.
What Is The Future Of Chainsaw Man?
With the success of the anime thus far, fans will surely be getting a lot more in the future. You can expect the manga and anime series to continue to be updated in the years to come. There was a recent announcement that there is even going to be a stage production bringing Denji and Co. live to the stage in Japan. It seems like this is just the beginning of Chainsaw Man becoming a massive franchise that spans many forms.
Chainsaw Man Season 1 is available in its entirety right now for streaming on Crunchyroll in the US. We should be getting more Season 2 news sometime in the near future.
