Although nothing has been confirmed about the anime series, the makers have been hinting at the spinoff for long. Earlier this year, the Duffer Brothers renewed their creative deal with the streamer and it was then that the duo talked about the possible spinoffs.
In conversation with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the makers revealed that the spinoff would be different from the original series. They revealed, “The project would be a story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it really is more about how we’re telling that story.”
Stranger Things Anime Gives Fans An Insight Into The Upside Down
In the past few seasons, the series has teased a lot about the Upside Down world. However, it wasn’t enough for fans to understand what exactly the place is or its origin story. With the anime series in the making, fans will get to see more of the Upside Down. A logline for the rumored anime reads, “An encounter with the Upside Down evolves into a grand adventure for video game loving twin brothers living on the outskirts of 1980s Tokyo.”
