Kody Brown Realizes He Has Daddy Issues
Kody Brown realizes he might have daddy issues when addressing his problems with his sons. After Janelle confronts him about banning Gabe and Garrison from Christmas, Kody finally reflects. He has to stop and think about his past and why he behaves as he does. This is most likely something viewers will never see Kody do again. So, what did he conclude? Read on for more details.
Kody Brown Realizes He Has Daddy Issues
As Kody struggles with his own children, he is starting to see that maybe his own dad played a part in this. In the latest episode of Sister Wives, Kody comes to blows with his second wife, Janelle over Christmas. She reveals that she has gotten a vacation home nearby for all of her kids since they will be in town. Seeing that she just got a two-bedroom apartment, there is not enough room for everyone to stay with her. She then brings up that Gabe and Garrison are not welcome at the family Christmas.
Kody tries to dispute this by saying he never said that. He really just wants them to clear the air with him and Robyn. After all, the boys were hurtful and negligent during the pandemic. Plus, he feels that Janelle played a role in not keeping her sons in line. However, that is not how Janelle heard it and her boys are not going to give in so easily. Therefore, she will choose her kids over spending time with Kody, Robyn, Meri, and their kids on any holiday.
Finally, Kody stops and reflects back to his own father, Winn, and realizes that they did not have a perfect relationship. Something must have been missing within it hence why he is struggling with his sons. Maybe if he had a better situation with his father, things would be different with his own boys. Did he not tell them he loved them enough or let them know how much he sacrificed for them? Kody comes to the conclusion that he does have daddy issues that are unresolved and have now trickled down.
Has He Mended Fences?
It does not appear that Kody Brown has made anything better with his sons as of late. From the photos and seating arrangement at his son, Logan Brown’s wedding a few months back, he seemed like a guest, not a dad. More will probably be revealed when the first part of Sister Wives One-On-One airs next week. There, Kody will address his relationship with Janelle and, hopefully, his status with his children. In last season’s tell-all, he was candid about needing therapy with his sons but it does not seem that ever happened. Janelle did propose that Kody and his boys get counseling but he did not say much.
