‘Jeopardy!’ Super-Champ Returns After Hiatus, Bags A Big Win
The Jeopardy! regular season is back again after airing the 2022 Tournament Of Champions for five weeks. With Amy Schneider declared as the winner of the tournament, fans can now tune in to Season 39. The season resumed on November 22 with super-champ Cris Pannullo returning to the game in full force on Tuesday’s episode.
Cris Pannullo Faced Etienne And David In His 12th Match
Fans were worried that the contestant would be a bit rusty after a long hiatus thinking he might be off his game. However, the champion proved the viewers wrong by bagging a big win in his 12th match this season. He faced David Stiasny, a pediatrician from Highland Park, Illinois, and Etienne Lepine, a software engineer from Lafayette, Colorado.

Jeopardy! Goes On Hiatus, Airs Tournament Of Champions
Amy Schneider’s big win wrapped up the 2022 Tournament Of Champions on November 21, 2022. Soon after, the returning episode welcomed Cris. However, Cris hasn’t been on the show for a long time because the original was paused for the Second Chance Tournament that premiered on October 17 and the Tournament Of Champions.

Cris’s 11th win in Season 39 was followed by the longest break than any Jeopardy! 10-plus game-winner has gone through. He had to wait a minimum of five weeks, if not two months, taking into account the delay between the taping and airing of the spinoff.
Talking about the big pause in the game, one Jeopardy! fan quipped, “Oh, Cris! I forgot about him. Looking forward to watching again today.”

“Will Cris pick up the dominance he had before the tournaments? Or will he be rusty?” questioned another.
Finally, a third fan tweeted, “Cris is the ‘customer success manager’- that’s right, now I remember!”

Watching Cris’ remarkable run, Ken Jennings admitted, “Well fought game by all three of you but a big lead for Cris.”
The Final Jeopardy clue in the Musical Theater category read:
“The pair at the center of tumult in this long-running show was originally to be a Jewish girl & a Catholic boy.”
Cris shook his head and grinned revealing his correct answer, “Tony and Tina’s wedding.”
