Talking to People about her success in the tournament, she said, “I feel amazing. Earlier in the finals, I had this sudden moment of seeing myself and being like, ‘I’m on stage in the Tournament of Champions finals,’ and that was crazy. And I won! It’s a great feeling.”

Amy Schneider Was Excited & Afraid Of Her Opponent

Previously, Schneider competed against Andrew He in Jeopardy! Season 38. She managed to end his five-game winning streak. Talking about her opponent, she said that she wanted to compete against him and was also afraid of facing him once again.

“I knew he was one of the top competitors in the field. He was definitely someone that I knew could beat me because he very nearly did before, and he did a couple of times here as well. Any of the three of us really could have won if a very small number of things had gone differently. I’m glad we got a really fair chance to test our skills against each other, and I’d love to play him again someday, somehow,” she said.

The Final Jeopardy category was “plays,” and the clue read as follows:

“The Jan. 12, 1864, Washington evening star reported on a performance of this ‘dashing comedy’ to ‘a full and delighted house.’”

Schneider bet $13,000 and chimed with the correct response as she said, “What is ‘our American Cousin?’”

Her hefty gamble secured the victory with a final score much higher than that of Andrew. He ended up with $17,001 while Buttery lost it all on an incorrect response.

Amy Is Among The Most Successful Jeopardy! Contestants

Schneider is one of the most successful female contestants in Jeopardy!’s history. She is also the first transgender contestant to qualify for the 2022 Tournament Of Champions. Her big win also makes her the first transgender winner in the category as well. Currently, Schneider holds the second spot in terms of all-time consecutive wins just after Ken Jennings.

  1. It is very interesting that Amy moved forward in the tournament as her answer to The New Testament questions was absolutely wrong. Paul has never written a letter to the Hebrews. As a matter of fact, my Pastor, who graduated from the seminary several decades ago says there is no clear and concise proof of who spoke to the Hebrews. The King James Version of the Bible is so old that it does not take into account other biblical findings that have been discovered since that version was released.
