Disney+ ‘Daredevil’ Spinoff Might Not Star A Key Character
Marvel series, Daredevil starring Charlie Cox as the titular character premiered in 2015. However, it was canceled after three seasons in October 2018. Now, Charlie and Vincent D’Onofrio are jumping from the canceled series to its upcoming limited series titled Daredevil: Born Again. However, a critical character from the series might not return. Who is this character? Keep reading to find out the details!
Karen Page Might Not Appear On Daredevil Spinoff
Charlie’s former co-star and primary love interest, Karen Page, portrayed by Deborah Ann Woll, might not be a part of the upcoming series. Considering that Karen was an important character in Daredevil, fans have been wondering if Woll would appear in Born Again.

Talking about the spinoff, Woll revealed, “I can say this: they have not called me yet. So, as of now, I am not a part of it. I would be thrilled to get to be a part of it. They know where I am. Like I said, I love the character Karen Page. I love telling that story. I feel like I have more to say. But it is up to them what kind of story that they want to tell.”
Daredevil Had An Awkward Ending With No Finale
Although the canceled series streamed on Netflix, it was licensed to the streaming giant by Disney. However, the cancelation came at an awkward moment which didn’t allow the show to resolve its storylines. As per Variety, the showrunners didn’t get to craft a proper series finale.

“The Marvel series feels unfinished to me because we got canceled when we thought we were going to have more. There’s a part of me that was like, ‘I had more to say about Karen,’ and I felt I was in the middle of that story,” said Woll.
Will She-Hulk Be Matt Murdock’s New Love Interest?
Cox has already become a central character of the MCU by reprising Matt Murdock/Daredevil in a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He was also a part of some episodes in the Disney+ original series, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. In the series, Matt is romantically intertwined with She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters played by Tatiana Maslany. So, if he will have a love interest in the Born Again spinoff series, it might be Jennifer and not Karen.

As of now, Marvel and Disney have only confirmed that D’Onofrio and Cox are returning for the spinoff series. Born Again has a total of 18 episodes and will premiere sometime in the Spring of 2024. The show is written by Chris Ord and Matt Corman. They have also worked on the 2010 series Covert Affairs. Moreover, given that this is a reboot series, all the previous canons won’t possibly happen in the Born Again universe.
