‘Daredevil’: Everything We Know About The New Season

Daredevil is one of the most successful Marvel Cinematic Universe shows ever made. Through all of the Disney+ hits like WandaVision and Loki, Daredevil still pushes ahead with a hardcore fanbase and three fantastic seasons. It was tragic for many when the show seemed to conclude back in 2018 with its third season. The entire Netflix branch of the MCU came to an abrupt halt as Disney set its own streaming platform in motion. It’s been quiet for some time. But Daredevil is finally back. We got the official announcement at San Diego Comic-Con. But is it the same Matt Murdock from the Netflix show that we know and love? Here’s everything we know about Daredevil: Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again

There’s been hype for the return of Daredevil since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home back in December. Charlie Cox returns as his iconic character for a brief cameo that set the internet on fire. Now we know that he’s getting a new season and an appearance in the upcoming She-Hulk series.

His new season will be the longest season of Daredevil yet at 18 episodes long. But will this even be the same Daredevil as the Netflix version? Kevin Feige was very specific in calling this new season Born Again and not Season 4. That could just be semantics or it could be a hint that this is not the same Matt Murdock. Many theorize that the multiverse is going to come into play to give us different versions of both Daredevil and Kingpin. Versions that are less gritty and more family-friendly. This would be terrible news for fans of the Netflix show, who appreciate its brutality. We already saw a neutered version of Kingpin in the recent Hawkeye Disney+ series, so it’s certainly possible.

More Defenders Coming To Disney+?

The return of one Defender has fans asking, will the others be coming soon as well? It seems only natural that we’d get Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher coming back as well. Each of those characters had multiple seasons of their own shows with big followings (Except Iron Fist, which was something of a failure). It only makes sense for every character to make a return, but there’s no confirmation of anything right now. Many think that The Punisher is simply too violent and bloody to come into Disney’s MCU. But, we know that Deadpool is coming, another character that never shies away from gore. So anything can happen. We may see one or more of these characters make an appearance in Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again is coming to Disney+ in the spring of 2024. Charlie Cox will be making his initial return as the blind crimefighter in the upcoming She-Hulk series premiering on August 18.
