There are often people who struggled their first time on American Idol who return for a second try. Season 21 of the hit singing reality show is currently filming its audition rounds. One Season 20 competitor returned this season to give it another try. The best thing is that she had all the talent in the world, but her pregnancy held her back.
Here is a look at who is returning and what else fans can expect from the new season of American Idol.
Haley Slaton Myles returns to American Idol
Haley Slaton Myles announced on Facebook she’s returning to American Idol to audition again in Season 21. In the post, she wrote, “In honor of me leaving tomorrow for American Idol, this was a year ago when I was preparing for Idol, I was 5 1/2 months pregnant, sooo glad I got my breath back and a second chance to make this dream of mine happen.”
She then followed up with a second post three days later, where she said she can’t disclose any information about the auditions. This is likely a spoiler since the people auditioning sign the waivers after they receive acceptance to move on to the Hollywood rounds. It is also no surprise because she was someone who had a big showing in Season 20. However, she went home for reasons that had little to do with her talent.
When Haley showed up and auditioned for American Idol, she was pregnant. However, she impressed the judges, and they moved her on to Hollywood. Once there, she still did well, but there was something holding her back. As Katy Perry said, Haley wouldn’t be able to hit the notes she needed to win with the lack of air from her lungs during the pregnancy. They sent her home but told her not to give up.
The good news for Haley is that she met Jordan Myles, another competitor. The two fell in love and got married. Haley delivered her baby in January 2022. Now, she is ready to give American Idol another try.
Other Season 20 stars coming back as well
Haley Slaton Myles won’t be the only familiar face returning from American Idol Season 20. Crews from the show also filmed a big concert involving some fan favorites, including Noah Thompson, HunterGirl, Dan Marshall, and Fritz Hager. The concert was on November 11.
There will also be plenty of familiar faces from the past, as American Idol ensures to always remind fans of the former competitors who became big stars after the show. American Idol Season 21 premieres on February 19, 2023.
