Many DWTS viewers felt shocked when Jordin Sparks exited the competition on Monday. Not many felt that she would win, but most agreed that she had a few weeks left in her. When she found herself in the bottom alongside Heidi D’Amelio, the judges voted to save Heidi once again.

Jordin is sad to leave the competition but is so proud of herself for overcoming her fears and putting herself out there. Keep reading to see what she had to say after exiting the ballroom.

Singer Jordin Sparks was hungry for a brand new journey

Every celebrity contestant joins Dancing With The Stars for personal reasons. For American Idol champion Jordin Sparks, she was just looking for a way to be a great role model for her son. In previous interviews, she said that she wanted to show him how it was brave to try new things and step outside his comfort zone. The singer had even turned down the show before because she was admittedly too afraid to try at that point.

Jordin may not have walked away with the Mirrorball Trophy, but her young son is probably incredibly proud of his mother for trying.

Now that her time in the ballroom is over, she’s determined to keep learning and growing as a person.

“Doing this really pushed me to do something that was scary to me, something that was outside of my comfort zone, something that I normally wouldn’t do,” the singer told Fox News Digital after the Halloween episode. “It’s just kind of opened this new side to me…that was scary, and I did it…I can do it, and it’s opened this new chapter for me. I think this is the beginning of something really amazing.”

She joked that the only other time she had been on the dance floor was at a nightclub. Competitive ballroom dance was a brand new experience for the American Idol winner.

Did you think that Jordin deserved more time in the ballroom? Or did the judges make the right choice here? No matter what you’re thinking, be sure to leave your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.

Plenty of fans disagree with the judges’ choice during Halloween Night

Heidi D’Amelio and her partner Artem Chigvintsev had already been in the bottom two once before. Many fans were really surprised to see that the judges voted to save them over Jordin and Brandon.

The judges were clearly torn up about the tough choice. Derek Hough took quite a bit of time to figure out who he wanted to save.

Carrie Ann Inaba voted to save Heidi and Artem. After thinking it over for a while, Derek voted to save Jordin and Brandon. Bruno Tonioli sided with Derek. However, head judge Len Goodman’s vote counted for two votes since the other judges couldn’t agree. He voted to save Heidi. Sadly, his choice eliminated Jordin.

The singer would have loved to have another week, but she’s probably happy to go home to her son. DWTS will come back for another episode on Monday. It’s 90s Night, so tune in and see your favorites perform.
