Sam Champion Teases DWTS-Inspired Halloween Costume

Sam Champion teased his Halloween costume. The GMA meteorologist shared what he’s going to dress up as on Monday. Fans are looking forward to it since it’s inspired by his stint on Dancing with the Stars. On Thursday, October 27, Sam hosted an Instagram live chat with his co-host Heather O’Rourke.

The two discussed the weather in New York during Halloween weekend. It rained for much of the week but led to a beautiful day on Thursday. Things are starting to cool down in parts of New York and the northeast. Read on to learn more about Sam’s costume.

GMA fans curious about Halloween costume

The GMA fans didn’t care about the weather. Most of them were curious about what Sam Champion was going to be for Halloween. Since the holiday falls on a Monday this year, some of your favorite co-hosts will be dressing up live on the morning show. Sam said he could “recycle” a costume from the DWTS costume department.

“What’s your Halloween costume going to be?” Heather read a question from one of their fans.

“Oh, I’m just going to recycle some stuff from DWTS,” Sam Champion admitted. “I’m going as a ballroom dancer. Is that bad?”

“Oh my gosh,” Heather responded. “No. Not so bad.”

He’s interested in using one of the costumes he wore during his stint on the Disney Plus series. The weatherman asked the costume department if he could wear the jacket that he wore on Good Morning America along with his dance shoes. Sam brought his dancing shoes with him everywhere he went before he competed on DWTS. He also got blisters from them and had to switch to more comfortable shoes.

Heather asked Sam Champion what his husband Rubem Rubierb was going to be. He said that he is going as a neon skeleton. Sam was on Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars with his dance partner Cheryl Burke. Unfortunately, the pair were eliminated in week four. Sam was grateful to return to his job because he didn’t realize how painful trying out for the show would be.

Sam Champion still has his dancing shoes

During the live chat, Sam Champion will also wear his dancing shoes. He had to find much more comfortable ones to wear during his time on the show. Sam will have to return to DWTS next month for the finals. He will take part in a special dance with the eliminated cast members.

One fan wanted to know how he could borrow the costumes. Sam informed the fan in the comment section of the Instagram Live chat that the wardrobe belongs to the costume department on the show. The only thing he needed was the dancing shoes that didn’t hurt his feet. Fans are curious to see if he will reprise his Greatest Showman costume.
