The American Idol announced that his parents flew in from Atlanta to see a live taping of the morning show. As Live with Kelly and Ryan fans already know, the show doesn’t have a live studio audience. However, they allowed Ryan Seacrest’s parents to be the only two audience members there.

He joked that it was school picture day. When the camera panned over to his parents, they were dressed up. His father wore a navy blue checkered blazer over a white button-up shirt and khakis. Meanwhile, his mother wore a hot pink blouse with black pants. He even posed with them behind the scenes.

Ryan Seacrest was happy to see his parents there to watch him in action. After the co-hosts sat down at the table, Ryan explained why he and Kelly Ripa were dressed up. He wore a gray tweed suit with a white button-up shirt and brown dress shoes. Kelly wore a red, white, and blue graphic print dress.

They wanted to look their best for his parents. “We are dressed up today because we have an in-studio audience of two,” Ryan Seacrest told the viewers. “Connie and Gary Seacrest making the trip from Atlanta via Orlando.”

That’s when the camera panned over to his parents who were seated alone in the studio audience section. Both of them wore masks. The television personality joked that they were in town for “some Ryan Seacrest business.” His mother wanted to know what to pack and he told them warm clothes because it’s been cold in New York City. Ryan complimented his mom’s blouse and said she was “vibrating.”

The conversation continued to get personal. Ryan Seacrest asked his mom, “How do we look in person?” She jokingly responded, “I mean… pretty good.” Next, he revealed that he took out his parents to dinner. He then shared a photo of himself with his parents and his girlfriend, Audrey Paige.

His parents couldn’t stop raving about LaGuardia Airport. Ryan’s mom mentioned that he wanted to have dinner early so he could go back to bed early. He joked that his mom should have her own talk show since she loves to talk. Following the show, Ryan took to Twitter to share a photo of him on the set with his parents.

While most fans loved the photo, they would love to see a studio audience again. The talk show received backlash for bringing back a live studio audience since the COVID-19 pandemic. Many other talk shows have been brought back at full capacity as they still follow the strict health protocols. Other fans are upset at the lack of live shows that the show has produced lately.
