Kelly Ripa Doesn’t Have Time For Kathie Lee Gifford’s Spite

Kelly Ripa & Kathie Lee Gifford

Kelly Ripa admitted that she doesn’t have time for Kathie Lee Gifford’s spite. This comes after Kathy shared her honest opinion about Kelly’s new book. She talked about the headlines that reported Kelly mentioned the late Regis Philbin. By that alone, Kathie Lee didn’t like what Kelly had to say.

Kelly wants people to read the book so they can get her real thoughts. As for Kathie Lee, she says she’ll pass on that idea. She never read the book. However, she already doesn’t like what Kelly had to say about her late friend.

Kathie Lee Gifford passes on Kelly Ripa’s new book

Earlier this month, Kathie Lee Gifford spoke to Fox 5 personality, Rosanna Scotto. She was asked about Kelly Ripa’s new memoir titled Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories. She shared that she’s not happy to see that Kelly is sharing stories about their former co-host, Regis Philbin. In the book, Kelly called Regis “warm and friendly” and said they lost touch after he left the morning show.

The 69-year-old television personality was heartbreaking when she read the headlines. Kathie admitted that she hasn’t read Kelly Ripa’s new book. However, what she read in the news was enough for her. She was disturbed by the headlines about Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin.

“You know, you never know what’s true and what’s not true,” Kathie Lee said. “I went, ‘I hope this isn’t true. I just hope it isn’t.’ ‘Cause what’s the point? I don’t get it. I don’t get it.”

Kathie doesn’t want to entertain the former soap star. She feels that Regis isn’t here to defend himself. That’s the problem that she has with Kelly’s new book. Kathie can’t admit what is true when only one person can share their part of their story.

Kelly Ripa fires back at criticism

Kelly Ripa has responded to Kathie Lee’s criticism. She explained that the people who are criticizing her aren’t understanding the full gist of the story. Without outwardly naming Kathie Lee’s name, Kelly suggested that she should actually read the book to get the real story.

“If you’re at home hidden behind a computer screen not having read a book, launching criticism, I don’t have time for you,” Kelly Ripa told Entertainment Tonight. “I don’t listen to that. I’ve been traveling now promoting this book, and I take away, like, these are people who have read it and have really been uplifted.”

Kelly would much rather focus on her readers than the naysayers. She took note of the fans that she met on her book tour. They “laughed” and “cried” together. Kelly hinted that her fans are the ones who “got the message that there are universal things: work is hard; play is fun; childbirth is for pu**ies.” She’s only sharing “universal truths” in her book.

On the other hand, Kelly Ripa informed Kathie Lee and other critics to not read her book if they don’t want to. She does thank her counterpart for bringing more attention to her memoir. She admits that it’s been hard to sell it. Long Winded ended up on The New York Times bestsellers list for the second week in a row.
