‘Unexpected’ Casting For New Season?

News, Reality TV, TLC Shows, Unexpected TLC

Fans of Unexpected should start to get excited. It appears that the TLC reality show is beginning its casting search for the new season. This is a big deal as viewers have been waiting for some sort of sign if the show will return. Season 5 ended back in June. As of now, the cast has said they have no clue whether or not there would be a Season 6. Lilly Bennett seemingly answered that question with a recent Instagram posting. Read on for more details.

Unexpected Casting For Season 6?

Lilly Bennett has had quite the ride on the series. She first appeared in the first season, gave birth to her daughter, and then exited. In a twist, she returned for Season 4. This time, she was pregnant again, however by a different guy. She had a new boyfriend, Lawrence and they were expecting a baby boy. Prior to his birth, Lawrence proposed to Lilly and then they welcomed LJ. During Season 5, they navigated living together with two kids and planning a wedding.

Now it seems Lilly is helping to recruit girls just like herself. On her Instagram, she posted a casting notice. It does not which show they casting for. However, the production company, 2POINT0 produces Unexpected. They are seeking pregnant teens who are due between January and April of next year. This means that the series could start filming by the end of November/early December. Usually, the girls come on at around 37 weeks pregnant. They also ask if the teens have a unique story to tell or if they are in high school.

Lilly and some of her castmates also posted a similar notice like this back in August. Yet that one was quite odd as it asked that those applying “appear” to be between the ages of 14 and 19. So, this could be an updated posting or they may not have found what they were looking for the first time around.

Returning For Season 6

So far, Jason Korpi has shared that he and his girlfriend, Kylen Smith have quit the show. Most viewers did not want to see them back again anyway. Tiarra Boisseau also revealed that she and her family would not come back if there were to be another season. She came on in Season 3 with her pregnant sister Tyra. Tiarra and their cousin, Taylor had just become teen mothers themselves. However, in Season 5, the tables were turned as Taylor and Tiarra were the ones expecting. Finally, newcomer Emersyn Potter shared that she would not mind coming back if she was asked.

Nothing has been confirmed but hopefully, once this casting is done, there will be something solidified. Who would you like to see return for Season 6 of Unexpected? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I watched 5 minutes of this show. The mother of the pregnant teen was horrified her daughter got pregnant. But her daughter’s boyfriend had been spending the night with her daughter, with her blessing. Can you really be that stupid? She pretty much set them up.
