‘Dahmer’ Squeezes Out ‘Bridgerton’ As Streaming Hours Climb
Netflix’s Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has successfully dethroned Bridgerton as the second-most popular show on the streaming platform. The true crime drama premiered on September 21, 2022, and has been a massive success among fans. However, it did receive its fair share of criticism on social media as well.
Stranger Things Season 4 Remains Most-Watched Netflix Series
Bridgerton Season 2 dropped on Netflix on March 25, 2022, and has enjoyed the number-one spot for quite some time.

But, the Dahmer series has successfully outranked it as the most popular English-language Netflix series. However, it still is in the second spot as Stranger Things Season 4 remains the most-watched series with 1.35 Billion hours viewed to date.

Dahmer is a limited biographical TV drama series with Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan as co-creators. The series trails the incidents that occurred in the life of a serial killer named Jeffrey Dahmer. The central antagonist is portrayed by Evan Peters who is known for his stints on American Horror Story. He has also been a part of Mare Of Easttown portraying the role of Detective Colin Zabel. His role as Zabel in HBO’s limited crime drama series also won him a Primetime Emmy Award back in 2021. Peters has also been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his stint in WandaVision.
Dahmer Logs 701 Million Viewed Hours Since Its Debut
As per People, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has already logged 205 Million+ viewed hours in its third week. It also topped the English TV list third week in a row. Since its debut in September, the show has collectively logged 701 Million hours making it the second-topper series of all time. In the first week, the series also made it to the number-one spot briefly.

However, in the second week, it dropped down to the ninth rank with 56 Million hours logged for 10 episodes.
What Is Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Show About?
For viewers that haven’t yet watched the series, it is about the serial Killer Jeffrey Dahmer who gained notoriety as the ‘Milwaukee Monster.’ Apart from being a serial killer, he was a known sex offender who dismembered and murdered a total of seventeen boys and men between 1978 and 1991.

A lot of the murders he committed involved cannibalism, necrophilia, and permanent body part preservation. He was known to preserve all or parts of the skeleton which has been vividly depicted in the Netflix series. Regardless of his abominable crimes, he was sentenced to just 15 terms of life imprisonment in 1992. Later on, he was sentenced to a sixteenth term of life imprisonment for the Ohio homicide he committed in 1978.

Even after being diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and psychotic disorder, he was deemed legally sane during his trial. Later on, he was murdered by Christopher Scarver, a prison mate.
