Today Show host commemorates World Mental Health Day
On Monday, Carson Daly took to his Instagram feed to share the official green and black flag in honor of World Mental Health Day. The next photo featured a graphic of the planet that is wrapped by a green ribbon that says, “10th October is… World Mental Health Day.” In his post, Carson opened up about his own mental health struggles.
“I’m so grateful for those who make every day a priority to help so many who suffer in silence,” Carson Daly wrote in his Instagram caption. “I was one of them. We need to treat our mental health like we do our physical health & break the stigmas. Everybody’s dealing with something & it’s ok not to be ok. You’re not alone. You’re worth more than you could ever know.”
The former TRL host suggested Project Healthy Minds, which takes calls around the clock and helps those who are struggling with their mental health. Fans took to the comment section to share their thoughts. Most of them thanked Carson for sharing his story, while others appreciate that he’s spreading awareness about mental health.

Carson Daly talked about his struggle with anxiety
Earlier this year, Carson Daly got candid about his struggle with anxiety. The Voice emcee feels that it made him more fragile as he gets older. In 2018, Carson revealed live on Today that he has generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) for much of his life. He uses cognitive behavior therapy to manage it.
In an interview with USA Today, Carson admitted some days are easier than others. He may appear confident and calm on live television. However, he finds little ways to help manage his anxiety. The television personality shared some of his strategies.
“On The Voice, when I’m live on Monday nights, most of the time, my right hand is in my right pocket, and I’m literally gripping onto the flesh of my thigh because I’m waiting for a high-panic moment to pass,” Carson Daly told USA Today.
He just wants his fans to know he’s just like them. It’s his personal goal to make mental health an ongoing conversation. The former MTV host has become passionate about spreading awareness that he shares inspirational segments on Today called “Mind Matters.”
