Netflix Snags ‘The Bad Guys’ With Its Latest DreamWorks Deal
Netflix has been striking some of the best deals lately. Be it in the anime or reality genre, lately, the viewers have had some of the best titles to ‘Netflix & Chill.’ Another amazing title making its way to the platform is the latest Dreamworks animated movie, The Bad Guys. The movie hit theaters on April 22, 2022. However, given Dreamworks’ previous deal with NBC Universal, the movie made its way to its streaming platform Peacock after its theatrical release. Now their deal is coming to an end. Plus, the title will soon be available on Netflix in the United States.

When Will The Bad Guys Be Available On Netflix?
Directed by Pierre Perifel, the animated movie is based on the popular illustrated children’s book written by Aaron Blabey. The movie’s voice cast includes popular names like Marc Maron, Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, Anthony Ramos, and Craig Robinson. Given Netflix’s latest DreamWorks deal, it has been confirmed that the movie will be available on the streaming platform starting November 1, 2022.

The Bad Guys’ theatrical release window was from April 22 to July 1, 2022. Next, the movie headed to Peacock on July 1, 2022, and will be available until October 31, 2022. This is when Netflix will get 10 months of streaming right for The Bad Guys starting November 1, 2022, until September 1, 2023.

After this, the movie will head back to Peacock and will stream on the platform until January 1, 2024. It is expected that Netflix might receive the movie again, but its second window might be sometime in 2026. As per What’s On Netflix, other movies that are headed to the streaming platform as a part of this deal include Mario and Minions: Rise Of Gru.
When Will International Netflix Regions Get The Bad Guys?
However, there isn’t a lot of information regarding the plans for Illumination and DreamWorks titles outside of the United States. So, it isn’t known whether the animated movie will be available to stream for viewers internationally. Based on previous years’ patterns, DreamWorks movies typically don’t come to Netflix UK until two years after their theatrical release (as seen with Trolls: World Tour). So, if Netflix UK follows the same pattern, viewers might have to wait until 2024 to stream the movie.

Most Netflix regions like Latin America and Canada received 2019’s Abominable in 2022. So, it is possible that The Bad Guys will head to other regions by 2024 or maybe 2025.
