βThe Challenge: Ride Or Diesβ Releases A Super Trailer
The Challenge returns on October 12 with a new season titled The Challenge: Ride or Dies. The season is named so because the competitors will compete alongside their own βride or dies.β MTV also released a new Challenge super trailer that shows what fans can expect.
There will be 17 pairs and MTV claims that βthe seemingly unbreakable bonds between friends, family, and partners will be tested.β Featured on the show are former teammates and some new faces competing for $1 million. Here is what you need to know.
The Challenge: Ride or Dies competitors
The Challenge: Ride or Dies features a lot of familiar faces, both to the fans watching at home and the competitors themselves. A select group of veterans returns, joined by some newcomers. Each person got to choose their own partner, similar to Bloodlines. More so, it can be a family member or friend.
Here are the teams for the new season:
- Amber Borzotra and Chauncey Palmer
- Nam Vo and Emmy Russ
- Devin Walker and Tori Deal
- Fessy Shaffaat and Moriah Jadea
- Laurel Stucky and Jakk Maddox
- Kailah Bird and Sam Bird
- Turbo and Tamara Alfaro
- Nelson Thomas and Nurys Mateo
- Jay Starrett and Michele Fitzgerald
- Horacio Gutierrez and Olivia Kaiser
- Kim Traenka and Colleen Schneider
- Johnny Middlebrooks and Ravyn Rochelle
- Tommy Bracco and Analyse Talavera
- Kaycee Clark and Kenny Clark.
Some of these names should be familiar to The Challenge and reality TV fans. Veteran Kailah Casillas chose her husband Sam Bird to team with. Former champion Amber Borzotra chose her boyfriend, Chauncey Palmer. Kaycee Clark, who won last season, will team with her brother Kenny. Also joining the competition are Survivor stars Jay Starrett and Michelle Fitzgerald, as well as Love Island stars Johnny Middlebrooks and Olivia Kaiser.
Furthermore, the season will also feature what is known as Heavy Hitters, with some people fans are familiar with. One of these teams includes Johnny Bananas and Nany Gonzalez. Johnny has won The Challenge seven times and Nany has made it to the finals three times. Another Heavy Hitters team is three-time champion Jordan Wiseley and 15-season veteran Aneesa Ferreira. The third Heavy Hitters team features four-time champion Darrell Taylor and three-time champion Veronica Portillo.

The Challenge: Ride or Dies super trailer features almost three minutes of action and drama. This includes Jordan Wiseley coming into the game as a late addition with his partner Aneesa Ferreira. This very much adds to the drama since Jordan and Tori Deal havenβt been in the same season since they ended their engagement and broke up. Jordan isnβt much better as the trailer shows him hooking up with Nurys Mateo in front of Deal.
Another conflict features Turabi βTurboβ ΓamkΔ±ran and Nany Gonzalez, who were partners on War of the Worlds, but are at odds here this season. Johnny Bananas is also back and he snuggles up with several women, including Laurel Stucky. For her part, Laurel is getting close to a newcomer in Horacio Gutierrez. Basically, this sounds like a lot of drama without even getting into the competition.
