‘Sister Wives’ What’s The Custody Situation For Truely Brown?
In the latest episode of Sister Wives, Christine finally told the women she was leaving. Of course, it was met with shock and a sense of loss. Where would the family go now? She also revealed her plans to move to Utah and leave Flagstaff behind. However, that begged the question of what would happen to Truely. Christine’s daughter, Ysabel is in her senior year of high school with the intention of moving to North Carolina after graduation. Kody was adamant that his third wife could not take his daughter away. So, what has happened with the custody situation? Read on for more details.
A Sister Wives Custody Battle
When Christine first told Kody she was leaving the marriage, she also let him know she wanted to move to Utah. That meant she would be bringing their minor daughter, Truely with her. This ruffled his feathers a lot as he questioned if she could legally do this. She let him know that they were far happier there as they had family who loved and appreciated them. Her older daughters, Aspyn and Mykelti were in Utah and it was a real sense of community.
As the episodes went on and it became more real, Kody brought up 50/50 custody. According to People, this was laughable to Christine. It is not that she does not want to share her daughter. More so, it is that Kody never cared about being super proactive prior to Christine announcing that she was leaving. “I find it ironic that now he wants to be involved my kid’s lives now that I’m leaving. Now he wants 50/50 time with them.”
The mother of six went on to add: “Well hell, he could have had 50/50 time with us this whole f—ing time we lived here. If he wanted 50/50 he should have been around more. He doesn’t get 50/50. He hasn’t been around enough for that.” Despite what Kody seems to want, Christine is more focused on making a happy life for her and her children. She has noted that even prior to the pandemic, Kody rarely was an active participant in their lives.
Where Do Things Stand Now?
It is unclear if Kody Brown has made a concerted effort to see Truely like he claimed he wanted. At this point, the Sister Wives star still seems to be living his best life with his fourth wife, Robyn. The two were seen out dancing at a bar so using the pandemic as an excuse is off of the table. Christine does travel to Flagstaff to both film for the series and visit her former sister wife, Janelle. However, she does not share whether or not she brings Truely along with her. Recently, Truely started middle school and already received Student of the Month for being respectful. With or without Kody, it is abundantly clear that Truely is thriving in her new life.
