‘Sister Wives’ Why Tony Padron Quickly Became Fan Favorite
Sister Wives fans were slow to warm up to Tony Padron. He was slightly snarky when it came to responding to patriarch Kody Brown. More so, he and Mykelti Pardon (nee Brown) were quick to get engaged. Their courtship was a whirlwind as they had not been dating for a long time when he decided to propose. Tony initially had a good job and then he traded that all in for a stay-at-home video game position that left fans questioning if he could care for his bride. Now, nearly six years later, he has completely changed fans’ perception of him in the best way possible.
Sister Wives Fans Have A Newfound Respect For Tony
Over the past few years, fans have started to realize that Tony is really just having fun with Kody. He is a sarcastic and witty guy but not everyone appreciates that. Plus, Mykelti’s mother, Christine has raved about what an amazing couple Tony and Mykelti are. They just work so well together. In Season 16, the two finally revealed that they were expecting their first child together via video chat due to the pandemic. They did travel from Utah to Flagstaff for the gender reveal.
It showed that they were having a baby girl and then, in April 2021, they welcomed baby Avalon Asa. Now that Season 17 of Sister Wives is underway, Avalon’s birth is finally being shown. Mykelti did a home birth with her mother, Zoom, the midwives, and Tony. He was there every step of the way and her mothers agreed Mykelti could not have made it without him. Reddit users were even beyond impressed with how Tony handled the birth and started a thread about it.
“Oh gosh, the best part of last night was poor Tony worrying about dropping the slippery baby,” the thread started. Another Redditor added: “I like that he’s practical about his own capabilities.” One even admitted they were either by him at the beginning but that faded when he was in labor action. Finally, one noted: “He was so sweet and supportive. He gets way too much hate considering he really is a loving husband to her.”
Growing Up & Proving Himself
It is safe to say that if Sister Wives viewers were not fans before, they at least have a new respect for Tony now. Mykelti was in labor for almost a full day. Keep in mind, Tony had never been a part of a home birth so this was all new to him. Yet, whenever she had a contraction, he immediately rushed to rub her back and make her feel comfortable. Christine reiterated that they make an amazing team and will make an amazing team and the best parents. They are currently preparing for the birth of twin boys, due in December.
