Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak made an awkward joke about his own wife. He’s been happily married to his second wife Lesly Brown for thirty years. Or at least that’s what fans thought. The controversial television star left the studio audience and viewers stunned.

This comes after Pat admitted that he’s “a nice guy.” He’s been under fire lately for his recent comments on the show. Last weekend, a photo of him with Georgia congresswoman Majorie Greene Taylor went viral on Twitter. Some fans promised to boycott the game show after learning about his political affiliation.

Pat Sajak has a dry and sarcastic sense of humor that’s hard to grasp. Sometimes people don’t understand if he’s joking. In the latest installment of Wheel of Fortune, Pat left the studio audience speechless. He made a shocking joke about the state of his marriage.

On Friday’s broadcast, Pat opened for contestant Patricia to introduce herself. He then asked her about her family life. She shared that she’s been married to her husband Corbett for “15 wonderful years.” That’s when Pat brought up his wife Lesly.

The 75-year-old took a shot at her during the show. Even though they’ve been together since the ’80s, Pat Sajak said they’ve been “married 15 wonderful years.” Then, he added: “And 15 out of 30 is not really too bad.”

Patricia stood there in a state of shock. She didn’t know how to respond. Neither did the studio audience. There was awkward laughter in the crowd. Pat said: “Hope she’s not watching.” He moved on with the show despite making the awkward comment.

The former weatherman married Lesly in 1989. The two met in Irvine, California when she was just 23 years old and Pat was 42. The two married a year later and split their time between Severna Park, Maryland, and Los Angeles, California, where Pat films Wheel of Fortune.

The couple shares two children, Maggie Sajak, 26, and Patrick Michael James Sajak, 30. Maggie joined her father on the show. She’s also a country singer and songwriter. Some fans have a feeling that she will replace him one day.

Pat Sajak keeps his family life under the radar

It’s not every day that Pat Sajak talks about his own family life. He likes to keep that under the radar. Maggie is one smart part of his family that people get to see on the show. She first appeared on WoF when Vanna White took on Pat’s hosting role as he underwent emergency surgery in early 2020.
