Wheel of Fortune Season 40 already had a shaky start. The new season premiered just a week ago and it’s garnering controversy. It all started with the new puzzle board, which had fans in a fit of rage. Now some are threatening to boycott the game show. Read on to learn more.

Ahead of the Season 40 premiere of Wheel of Fortune, the show teased the new puzzle board on its official social media accounts. Host Pat Sajak, his daughter Maggie, and hostess Vanna White stood in different spots in the new studio.

The camera panned over to the puzzle board, which works with laser lights. It works by lasers rather than touch. This comes after the previous puzzle board that came out in 1997 and worked via touchscreen, which was a novel concept then.
